My second book, COVID-19: The Facts about Vaccines, Herd Immunity and Living with COVID-19. The book gives an account of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus, including information since the beginning of pandemic, and its epidemiology, containment and mitigating measures, including lockdowns, quarantine and isolation guidelines.
In a highly interconnected world, COVID-19 pandemic has shown how vulnerable and exposed the world is to global threats. The pandemic has shone a light on pre-existing health inequalities in society, which disproportionately impact the most vulnerable. COVID-19, climate change and conflicts have all been features of recent times, with a common theme: a human cost, health being put at risk and economic disruption.
